Voice of Tibet starts message line to quake victims in Tibet

April 19th, 2010

Voice of Tibet (VOT) radio news service (www.vot.org) is starting a service, which will enable our listeners to convey their message of support and solidarity to the people of Yushu (Kyigudo) which was rocked by a massive earthquake on April 14, 2010. VOT encourages all those who want to have their message of support or condolences transmitted on short wave radio to Tibet to call the VOT main editorial office in Dharamsala. Your message will be recorded and included in our daily transmissions.

“We want to basically give a platform for Tibetans and other sympathisers to convey their messages to the victims of the earthquake, rescue workers and aid agencies. With the facility at our disposal this is a small gesture on our part,” says Karma Yeshi, Editor-in-Chief of VOT.

To send your message call VOT at +91 1892 222384 or e-mail to info@vot.org

E-mailed messages in English will be translated for broadcast in Tibetan language. Separate radio transmissions will be arranged in case of too many messages being sent to us. The programme will also be made available on Internet at www.vot.orgwww.vot.org/index_simp.html (Chinese language). (Tibetan) and
