Want to do a Benefit Concert?

Because the Milarepa Fund's Tibetan Freedom Concerts were so successful, students and supporters frequently raise the idea of doing benefit concerts to raise money for SFT and awareness about Tibet. However, benefit concerts are a lot of work and rarely make any money. In fact, they are notorious for losing money.

How did the Milarepa Fund succeed with their concerts? Well, Milarepa was co-founded by the Beastie Boys and had contacts with famous musicians. They had a large budget, a lot of background in event production, and a big full-time staff working year-round to put the concerts together.

This document explains why benefit concerts are rarely a good idea but also explains how to do it, if you won't listen.

Download it as a .pdf and good luck... but don't say we didn't warn you.
