To all Tibetans inside Tibet,
On behalf of all the members of SFT around the world, Tibetans,
non-Tibetans, students and activists working for human rights and
freedom in Tibet, I send you a message of solidarity on this 48th
commemoration of the March 10th 1959 Uprising. Across the globe,
Tibetans and supporters are holding the largest March 10th
demonstrations in years.
We want to let you know that we remain firmly committed to the cause
of Tibetan freedom and independence. We pledge to work even harder to
realize this goal and in the coming months and years we will redouble
our efforts to fight China’s lies and destructive policies in Tibet. We
know that change will come to China, and we will prepare ourselves for
this moment so that we can seize any opportunity for advancing the
cause of independence for Tibet.
Wherever Chinese leaders travel, to spread their lies and propaganda
about Tibet, we will be there to fight them. We will shame them and
make them unwelcome in any forum where they show their face hoping to
deceive people about the truth of Tibet’s history and the Tibetan
people’s desire for freedom. We will use our knowledge of the world,
our talents and passion, to fight them with all our might.
As the Beijing Olympic Games approach, we will organize campaigns
and take action to expose China for its brutal occupation of Tibet and
educate the global public about the intense suffering Chinese rule has
caused to the six million Tibetan people. There will be protests in
Beijing during the Olympics. We will not be deterred by China’s efforts
to keep us away. We will stand tall and proud and unafraid in the face
of their intimidation.
We know that truth will one day prevail – but only if we work with
strength and conviction, and employ strategic vision and execution to
dismantle the monstrous structure of Chinese imperialism in Tibet.
We are with you in heart and spirit. No matter how long this fight
may take, we will never give up. Tibet will be free. Bod Rangzen.
