Campaigns Intern

Students for a Free Tibet is seeking a Campaigns Intern who is passionate about human rights advocacy. This intern will work closely with the Campaigns Director and will have the opportunity to learn about advocacy and lobbying, campaign strategy, and key issues in Tibet.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor news on Tibet
  • Research opportunities for Tibet engagement at UN
  • Update campaign materials and resources
  • Manage campaign information on the website
  • Help launch SFT’s Summer Canvassing Program
  • Support urgent response actions

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong interest in and passion for human rights, activism, and grassroots organizing
  • Knowledge of Tibet is a huge plus
  • Research skills
  • Students working towards an undergraduate degree in such as Political Science, Government, or any relevant field are strongly encouraged to apply.

COMMITMENT:
Applicants are expected to commit a minimum of 180 internship hours within a 12-week period.

COMPENSATION:
This internship is unpaid, but we are happy to work with you to help you receive class credit. This internship will provide you the opportunity for skill development and work experience in the nonprofit sector; references from senior staff upon successful completion of the internship; unique learning experience in one of the most effective grassroots organizations in the field of political activism.
