Students for a Free Tibet condemns the recent announcement by the Hong Kong police of arrest warrants and HK$1 million bounties on the heads Joey Siu and Frances Hui, along with three other Hongkonger activists, due to their human rights activism and criticism of the Chinese Communist Party.
From taking direct action in Athens during the #NoBeijing2022 campaign to participating in Cross-Movement Action Camp, Joey and Frances have always stood in solidarity and fought alongside Tibetan activists.
The CCP’s threats against their safety and attempts to silence their voices in exile are another clear example of transnational repression.
Both Joey and Frances have reiterated that this bounty will not stop their activism, and SFT looks forward to continue to fight alongside them every step of the way.
