Lhadon Tethong is one of the most visionary and influential Tibet activists in the world. Born in Canada, she has traversed the globe speaking to world leaders and spearheading campaigns advocating for human rights in Tibet. Lhadon has served as the Executive Director of Student for a Free Tibet and currently serves as the Director of Tibet Action Institute, a non-profit she founded that aims to strengthen strategic nonviolent activism through digital communication.
Yves Moreau is a Professor of Engineering at KU Leuven. His research focuses on artificial intelligence algorithms relevant to clinical genomics and disease gene discovery. Yves notes the increasing development of mass surveillance technology in the larger trend of information technology being garnered in harmful ways. Yves was elected a Fellow of the International Society for Computational Biology in 2018 for his contribution in bioinformatics.
Based in the UK, Sondhya Gupta is a Campaigns Manager at SumOfUs. SumOfUs is an organization advocating for corporate accountability and raising the standards for ethics-based consumerism. She has been a spokesperson for various campaigns, including one that targeted Apple’s censorship in regions of Tibet, East Turkistan, and Hong Kong

Our Moderator:
Tenzin Yangzom was born in Dharamsala and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts. Her passion for activism began at a young age with a special interest in political prisoners and children’s rights. She is currently the Grassroots Director of SFT International and serves on the Advocacy Board of the Tibetan Association of Boston and held a number of other nonprofit leadership roles addressing gaps in opportunities and resources and preserving the stories of the first Tibetan immigrants in Boston.
